About Us
We’re Jennifer and Fong, the wife-and-husband team at Flower Day Farm.
If we’re being completely honest, our journey into flower farming isn't your typical romantic story - it started with survival and a whole lot of love.
During the Vietnam War, the Hmong, an ethnic group, fought alongside the US in what’s known as the Secret War. When it ended, the Hmong had to flee their homeland. These were our parents. And when they came to the states, they had nothing but knew how to grow things. To support their families in America, both of our parents started flower farms. Fong and I grew up in the dirt and learned the ropes at a very young age.
Fast forward to 2021. In the middle of the COVID pandemic, we wanted to build something meaningful of our own, so we launched Flower Day Farm in Monroe, WA. And like classic first-year farmers, we totally overdid it. We tried to do every thing - farmers markets, weddings, farm stand, and grocery orders all while raising little ones and working a full-time day job. It was exhausting.
By 2026, we decided to slow down and focus on what we love most: dahlias and peonies. They aren't just beautiful but they are the flowers our parents first grew and the ones we would plant even if nobody was buying.
After 20+ years of growing flowers, we've focused our passion on fresh cut seasonal flowers, dahlia tubers, and mentoring fellow flower farmers.
Thank you so much for being part of our journey.
